

DIRECTOR AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

TR HARKER - Club Director TR is in his 16th year at Southwest and currently serves as an assistant volleyball coach at Baldwin Wallace University. He previously spent 15 years at Strongsville High School, including 9 years as the head varsity coach for the girls’ team, earning GCC Coach of the Year honors in 2016, 2018, and 2019. With 21 years of JO club coaching experience, TR has coached every age group from 12s to 18s and led 8 teams to the USA Girls Junior National Championship. He has made a lasting impact on countless athletes’ volleyball careers, helping many develop the skills and confidence to compete at the collegiate level. TR holds IMPACT, CAP I, and ASEP certifications and serves on the Ohio Valley Region’s Junior Advisory Board. He is also a certified regional USA Volleyball official and a Class 1 high school volleyball official. A former setter and libero for Kent State’s men’s club team, TR continues to play high-level adult volleyball and brings a deep passion for the game to every team he coaches.

ASHLEY KOSCIANSKI - Assistant Club Director, Coach 14N Ashley is in her 13th year with Southwest. She played JO volleyball for 7 years, both at the American and National levels, with two of those years being at Southwest. Ashley was a three-year varsity starter at Strongsville High School (DS / Libero) and is still an avid adult player. Previously she was the JV Volleyball Coach at Strongsville High School for three years and worked for six years as a certified official in the Ohio Valley Region / USA volleyball. She was an assistant coach for her first two years at Southwest and has spent the past 11 years as a head coach for 13s-17s teams at both the American and National levels. In recent years, her National teams have consistently finished ranked in the top 10 in the state, and in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 her National teams qualified to play at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships.
HEAD COACHES

KATIE MAY - Coach 18N Katie is going into her 3rd year at Southwest. She is currently in her 3rd season as an assistant coach at Independence High School. She has 14 years of playing experience with two of those years being at Southwest, with both of those teams qualifying for Nationals. Katie played varsity volleyball at Independence High School for four years before she continued her playing career at Mount Union for four years. She is currently working as a business operations specialist and in her free time she likes to spend time with family and travel.

DEB HALL - Coach 15N 17th year with SWVC; Current Brooklyn High School Varsity Coach; Previously JV and Varstiy Assistan. Over 26 years experience, coaching middle school through high school levels. In her tenure at SWVC, Coach Deb’s teams have consistently finished ranked in the top 20 in state, with several ranking in the top 10. Her 2024 14 National team has earned a bid to play at Nationals.

TANYA WASUK - Coach 12N Tanya is in her 8th year coaching for Southwest. She has 12 years of experience coaching volleyball. She played 3 years of varsity volleyball for Lorain High School, 4 years of club volleyball at Kent State University and remains an avid volleyball player both indoors and in the sand. Coach Tanya is an HRIS Project Manager at a Worldwide Shipping and Logistics company. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family on their boat, playing volleyball, and pickleball.

COURTNEY HALL - Coach 16N Courtney started as an assistant coach at SWVC for 10 years and she is now looking forward to her 5th season as a head coach. She started playing and fell in love with volleyball at a very young age (all thanks to her mom being a coach). While in high school, she played JO volleyball, mainly as a DS. Courtney graduated from the University of Akron in 2012 and currently works as a paralegal at a large law firm in downtown Cleveland. She previously was a JV coach for Brooklyn High School.

EMILY HARKER - Coach 14E Emily is in her 6th year coaching at Southwest Volleyball club, previously coaching at both the Elite and National levels. She recently earned her master's degree in technology from Kent State University and works as a Project Controls Manager at a construction management company. Emily (setter) played 7 years of JO volleyball with 5 of those years being at Southwest, including teams that have qualified for Nationals. She also played varsity at Strongsville HS, lettering two years. She has coached numerous camps and clinics and remains an avid adult volleyball player.

OLIVIA FRASER - Coach 12E This will be Olivia's 3rd season as part of Southwest's coaching staff. She has 8 years of playing experience including four JO seasons as a setter for Southwest. After graduating from Strongsville High Schoo, where she also played volleyball, she went on to Bowling Green State University where she received a Bachelor's degree in public relatoins. She currently works at a public relations firm in Downtown Cleveland.

TERRY SPILKER - Coach 15N Terry Has over 20 years experience coaching high school and club volleyball. He begins his 5th season as head coach at Lakewood high school where in his first season at Lakewood they won more matches than the prior 4 years combined and went from last in the conference to 4th in the conference. He has also been the head coach at Trinity High School and Cuyahoga Hts High School. Terry has coached at several Northeast Ohio JO volleyball clubs, at both the National and American levels. Coach Terry's teams have consistently ranked in the top 10 of the OVR, including top finishes at National Qualifiers.

KATE KASPER - Coach 13N This will be Kate’s 4th season at Southwest Volleyball Club. Coach Kate has coached several years of JO volleyball and currently serves as the Midview High School head varsity volleyball coach. She played 4 years of high school volleyball at Riverside High School, in Painesville, Ohio. Throughout high school Kate played club volleyball at the American and National Levels. After high school, she attended Ursuline College where she played all 4 years as a setter. She currently holds the school record for assists at Ursuline College as well as a conference record for assists in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Kate is an Intervention Specialist at Midview High School.

AMY RUBINO - Coach 11E Amy has coached for SWVC for 20 years; Played four years for Saint Joseph Academy, was part of the inaugural SWVC team and played for 7 years; coached at Saint Joseph Academy for 11 years; has coached every age level at SWVC winning OVR championships numerous times, and has had a team qualify to play at Nationals. Amy is CAP1 and Impact certified.
ASSISTANT COACHES

JAMIE SNELL Assistant Coach 18N

MADISEN TREXLER Assistant Coach 16N Madisen is in her 4th season assisting at Southwest Volleyball Club. She is also the JV head coach at Brooklyn high school and co-coach of the 7th grade Brooklyn middle school team. She played at Elyria Catholic high school and 9 years of JO with SWVC. She is currently going to school for early childhood education and continues to help with camps and plays sand volleyball.

MCKENNA MULLENAX Assistant Coach 15N McKenna began playing volleyball in seventh grade, competing in both school and club programs. She has been coaching at the middle school level for the past four years, including two years at Berea-Midpark and currently in her second year at Harding Middle School. A former player for Coach Terry at the 16U club level, McKenna now coaches alongside him during both the school and club seasons.

SYDNEY YANAK Assistant Coach 15N

DAVID KOSCIANSKI Assistant Coach 14N David is in his 10th year with Southwest. David started playing volleyball in the 7th grade and continued through high school. He was a 3-year varsity starter for St. Edward High School as a DS, and is still an active player in adult sand leagues and tournaments. David has 9 years of high school coaching experience. He spent 7 years with St. Joseph Academy, 1 year as an assistant and 6 years as the head coach of the Freshman team. He was then the coach of the Strongsville Freshman team for two years. In his time at Southwest, David has coached multiple teams that have qualified for Nationals.

CHRIS POSLET Assistant Coach 14E This will be Chris's first season as part of the Southwest coaching staff. He played 4 years of high school volleyball at North Olmsted and remains an avid volleyball player both indoor and in the sand. He attended Kent State University for Entrepreneurship and Business Management and currently works in exterior construction as a property inspection specialist.

ADDIE ODON Assistant Coach 13N Addie is currently in her 3rd year of coaching with Southwest. She has 12 years of playing experience with 5 of those years being at Southwest as well as the varsity team at Olmsted Falls HS. She is currently the 7th grade coach at Olmsted Falls while attending Cleveland State University for Human Resources.
MIRANDA BUSH Assistant Coach 12N

KYLIE BLOCK Assistant Coach 12E This will be Kylie’s first season as part of the Southwest coaching staff. She brings 15 years of playing experience, including competing at the collegiate level for Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. During her final year at Avila, Kylie served as a graduate assistant coach and has also coached multiple youth volleyball camps throughout her career. Outside of volleyball, Kylie works in HCM sales and enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and playing sand volleyball.

HEAVEN BARTELL Assistant Coach 11E

ADAM EVANS Club Training Assistant Adam Evans joins Southwest Volleyball after taking the 2025 season off, bringing more than 30 years of experience in nearly every aspect of the sport—from coaching and club directing to officiating and tournament management. He began coaching high school in 1994 and has since coached at multiple scholastic programs. Over three decades, Adam has coached at numerous JO clubs and directed five. He has also coached National-level teams at area JO clubs, contributing to eight USAV National Qualifying teams. Beyond coaching, Adam has served as a USAV Regional official, a three-term Ohio Valley Region Board member, and a tournament director across four states with the Ohio Volleyball Association. As a player, he competed in USAV tournaments for 17 seasons. Adam is excited to join Southwest Volleyball and is committed to helping athletes grow as both players and people.
