ALYSSA KASARIS Assistant Coach This will be Alyssa’s 2nd season assisting at Southwest Volleyball club. She played 4 years of high school volleyball at North Royalton High School. Throughout high school Alyssa played at Southwest Volleyball Club at the National Level. After high school, she attended the University of Mount Union where she started all four years as a libero. She finished her career with 2,024 career digs. She graduated from Mount Union with a double major in Psychology and Exercise Science and is currently a Registered Behavior Technician.

KATIE MAY Assistant Coach Katie is going into her 2nd year at Southwest. She is currently in her 2nd season as a program assistant coach at Independence High School. She has 14 years of playing experience with two of those years being at Southwest. Katie played varsity volleyball at Independence High School for four years before she continued her playing career at Mount Union for four years. She is currently working as a business operations specialist and in her free time she likes to spend time with family and travel.

YVONNE BOSWELL Assistant Coach Yvonne is entering her 1st season at SWVC and has over 13 years of coaching experience, most recently at Western Reserve. She works as a high school intervention specialist at New London high school. She is married with two kids and enjoys camping, providing therapy with her two golden retrievers and spending time with family.

TR HARKER - Club Director, Coach 16N TR is currently an assistant volleyball coach at Baldwin Wallace University. Previously he coached for 15 years at Strongsville High School and 9 of those years were as the girl’s head varsity coach. During his tenure there he was voted high school GCC conference Coach of the Year in 2016, 2018 and 2019.  In addition, he has coached JO club volleyball for 20 years. TR is IMPACT, CAP I and ASEP certified and is a current board member on the JAB (Junior Advisory Board, Ohio Valley Region).  He also works as a certified regional level official in the Ohio Valley Region of USA Volleyball as well as a certified Class 1 official in high school volleyball. He played in high school and then on the Kent State men’s club team as a setter and as a Libero, and has been playing high level adult volleyball ever since. TR has coached every age in JOs from 12s to 18s and has also coached 8 different teams that have qualified to play in the USA Girls Junior National Championship. Entering his 15th year at SWVC, the Southwest teams TR has coached have consistently finished in the top 10 overall, with several of them finishing #1 in the state. Many of the players TR has coached have gone on to play in college (Division 1 through Division 3).

TJ SHOUSE - Assistant Club Director Coach 18N1 TJ is in his 11th year coaching at Southwest. In 2023 his 17N team played at Nationals and earned a 5th place finish in the USA Division. Previously, he coached our 2019 16 National team that also earned a bid to Nationals. TJ is a former high school and college outside hitter, playing for the Slippery Rock University men's club team while serving as a student assistant for the women's NCAA Division II team. He spent three years as a paid assistant there before serving as the head coach at Tiffin University for four seasons. He is currently a certified OVR Regional Referee and volleyball trainer.

ASHLEY KOSCIANSKI - Assistant Club Director, Coach 17N1 Ashley is in her 12th year with Southwest. She played JO volleyball for 7 years, both at the American and National levels, with two of those years being at Southwest. Ashley was a three-year varsity starter at Strongsville High School (DS / Libero) and is still an avid adult player. Previously she was the JV Volleyball Coach at Strongsville High School for three years and worked for six years as a certified official in the Ohio Valley Region / USA volleyball. She was an assistant coach for her first two years at Southwest and has spent the past 10 years as a head coach for 13s-17s teams at both the American and National levels. In recent years, her National teams have consistently finished ranked in the top 10 in the state, and in 2021, 2022 and 2023 her National teams qualified to play at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships.

TERRY SPILKER - Coach 18N2 Terry Has over 20 years experience coaching high school and club volleyball. He begins his 4th season as head coach at Lakewood high school where in his first season at Lakewood they won more matches than the prior 4 years combined and went from last in the conference to 4th in the conference. He has also been the head coach at Trinity High School and Cuyahoga Hts High School.  Terry has coached at several Northeast Ohio JO volleyball clubs, at both the National and American levels. Coach Terry's teams have consistently ranked in the top 10 of the OVR and he has had teams finishing top 5 at NEQ and MEQ, 2nd at Rock n Rumble and 1st at Bluegrass.

MARCY NICOLAE - Coach 14N Marcy played professional volleyball in Romania at “Braiconf” Braila, she was a four-year D1 varsity player at “Dunarea de Jos” University Galati, Romania. As a volleyball player, she played front row middle and middle back. After she moved to USA she played and won numerous doubles sand tournaments and Lakeview tournaments in the open division. Marcy started her coaching career at “CSU Metal” Galati, Romania in 2002 for 14s-18s years old girls. Moving to USA, Marcy was a head varsity volleyball coach at Our Lady of the Elms, she was an assistant coach at Baldwin Wallace University, head men’s varsity volleyball coach at Medina High School, and coached at Buckeye Local Schools 7th-grade volleyball. She is currently the head boys volleyball coach at Hoban.

TANYA WASUK - Coach 13N2 Tanya is in her 7th year coaching for Southwest.  She has 11 years of experience coaching volleyball ages 13 and under. Her 2024 12's team won four tournaments and finished ranked 2nd in the OVR. She played 3 years of varsity volleyball for Lorain High School, 4 years of club volleyball at Kent State University and remains an avid volleyball player both indoors and in the sand. Coach Tanya is an HRIS Project Manager at a Worldwide Shipping and Logistics company. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family on their boat, playing volleyball, and pickleball.

DEB HALL - Coach 17N2 16th year with SWVC; Brooklyn High School Varsity Coach; Brooklyn High School JV Head Coach & Varsity Assistant Coach (2007-2009); Garfield High School, JV Head Coach & Varsity Assistant Coach (2006); over 26 years’ experience, coaching middle school through high school levels. In her tenure at SWVC, Coach Deb’s teams have consistently finished ranked in the top 20 in state, with several ranking in the top 10. Her 2024 14 National team has earned a bid to play at Nationals.

JANE BITTINGER - Coach 14E This is Jane's 2nd year coaching at Southwest. She has 9 years previous JO coaching experience, where she led 11-14 year-old National & American teams. Jane has also coached both 7th & 8th grade volleyball teams in Strongsville ('13-'15) to winning seasons and championships and taught volleyball classes at the Strongsville Recreation Center. Jane's playing background includes 4 years as an OH varsity starter for Hiram College, and she has played indoor and sand ever since. Jane's also a proud vball parent of Kelsey, who played OH for Strongsville HS (All-Ohio 1st Team) and Kent State University (All-Mid-American-Conf. 1st Team '15, '16, & '17), and had an amazing time playing professionally for a team in Austria!

KATE KASPER - Coach 12N This will be Kate’s 3rd season at Southwest Volleyball Club. She played 4 years of high school volleyball at Riverside High School, in Painesville, Ohio. Throughout high school Kate played club at Eastside Cleveland Juniors at the American and National Levels. After high school, she attended Ursuline College where she played all 4 years as a setter. She currently holds the school record for assists at Ursuline College as well as a conference record for assists in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. While attending college, Coach Kate has coached several years of JO volleyball. Currently, Kate is an Intervention Specialist at Midview High School and serves as their head varsity volleyball coach.

LANNAN STARCHER - Coach 16N Lannan is in her 7th year with SWVC, a graduate of Kent State University with a B.S. in Applied Engineering and currently works as a quality process engineer. She is from New Philadelphia where she played HS volleyball at state ranked Tuscarawas Central Catholic and New Philadelphia High School, primarily as a setter and outside hitter. After playing eight years of JO for multiple clubs, Lannan coached a 14s team for Tuscarawas Volleyball Club in 2014. Lannan has recently coached National level teams at SWVC that have consistently finished ranked in the top 5 in the state.

ALEX WIEMKEN - Coach 13N1 Alex is in her 5th year with SWVC. Alex is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and is currently a math/science teacher at Strongsville middle school. Alex started her volleyball career at Center middle school where she set numerous serving records. She also played JO volleyball at SWVC under Coach TR Harker for 4 years which included multiple tournament championships and top JO rankings. Alex played volleyball at Strongsville high school and was a three year starter playing back row for the Mustangs, including a regional finalist her junior year. Alex was also all district in softball her senior year.  She is currently the 7th grade head coach at Strongsville middle school. Her JO teams have consistently finished with top 5 rankings in the state and her 2024 12 National team qualified to play at the USAV Girls Junior National Championship.

ADDIE ODON - Coach 12E Addie graduated from Olmsted Falls high school in 2023. She has 12 years of playing experience with 5 of those years being at Southwest. She was an assistant at Southwest for the past 2 years. She is currently going to school at Cleveland State University for Human Resources.

COURTNEY HALL - Coach 15N Courtney started as an assistant coach at SWVC for 10 years and she is now looking forward to her 3rd season as a head coach. She started playing and fell in love with volleyball at a very young age (all thanks to her mom being a coach). While in high school, she played JO volleyball, mainly as a DS at the American level. Courtney  graduated from the University of Akron in 2012 and currently works as a project assistant at a large law firm in downtown Cleveland.  She previously was a JV coach for Brooklyn High School.

EMILY HARKER - Coach 13N1 Emily is in her 4th year coaching at Southwest Volleyball club, previously coaching 12 & 13 Elite and 14 National. She recently earned her master's degree in technology from Kent State University and works as a Project Engineer at a construction management company. Emily (setter) played 7 years of JO volleyball with 5 of those years being at Southwest. She has played both at the National and American levels and has played on teams that qualified for Nationals. She also played varsity at Strongsville HS, lettering two years. She has coached numerous camps and clinics and remains an avid adult volleyball player.

AMY PAULOZZI - Coach 11E Amy has coached for SWVC for 19 years; Played four years for Saint Joseph Academy, was part of the inaugural SWVC team and played for 7 years; coached at Saint Joseph Academy for 11 years; has coached every age level at SWVC winning OVR championships numerous times, and has had a team qualify to play at Nationals. Amy is CAP1 and Impact certified.

KATIE SCHADE - Coach 10s This is Katie’s 2nd year coaching at Southwest. She has coached volleyball for 10 years. Her other coaching experience includes: 6 years coaching CYO for Saint Mary of the Falls (3rd-8th grade), 3 years coaching JO Volleyball (14s – 16s Elite), 1 year as Head Varsity coach at Oberlin High School. She was previously a JV coach at Padua Franciscan and is currently the 3rd grade coach at St. Mary’s of Berea. She graduated from Keystone High School, where she played as a DS and has played in many recreation leagues. Coach Katie works as an Executive Assistant at a Microbiology company and enjoys spending her free time with her 3 very active children.

DAVID KOSCIANSKI Assistant Coach 17N1 David is in his 9th year with Southwest.  David started playing volleyball in the 7th grade and continued through high school.  He was a 3-year varsity starter for St. Edward High School as a DS, and is still an active player in adult sand leagues and tournaments. David has 9 years of high school coaching experience. He spent 7 years with St. Joseph Academy, 1 year as an assistant and 6 years as the head coach of the Freshman team.  He was then the coach of the Strongsville Freshman team for two years. In his time at Southwest, David has coached 15-17's at both the American and National levels.  He led his 15's team to a championship at the MEQ qualifier in the Select division and has coached teams that have earned national bids.

JULIE LERNER Assistant Coach 13N2 Julie is in her 2nd year as an assistant with Southwest. She is originally from Rochester, NY where she played 4 years on her high school varsity team and 4 years of JO.  She is a graduate of John Carroll University where she played for 2 years.  Julie has coached 3 years of CYO at Holy Trinity in Avon, Ohio.   In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family boating, traveling and playing volleyball.

MADISEN TREXLER Assistant Coach 15N Madisen is in her 3rd season assisting at Southwest Volleyball Club. She is also the JV head coach at Brooklyn high school and co-coach of the 7th grade Brooklyn middle school team. She played at Elyria Catholic high school and 9 years of JO with SWVC. She is currently going to school for early childhood education and continues to help with camps and plays sand volleyball.

MORGAN BOSWELL Assistant Coach 14N1 Morgan’s coaching experience includes 15-18 year olds, including her current position as JV coach at Western Reserve high school where she has been for two years. She has several years of previous JO coaching experience. She has played competitive volleyball for over 14 years, including at the National JO level, a four-year varsity starter at WRHS and collegiately at Mount Union. She is still an avid beach player. Morgan works in human resources and enjoys spending time outdoors and training for half marathons.

GREG WIEMKEN Assistant Coach 13N1 Greg is in his 5th year with SWVC as an assistant coach for his daughter Alex. He has been coaching for 40 years in many sports including basketball, soccer and football but mostly in baseball and softball. He has coached in many national tournaments and has coached state championship  teams in travel ball. In 2024 the 12N SWVC National team had a very successful season, earning a bid to play at Nationals. He is a foot surgeon in Strongsville, married to Kathy, a retired teacher and has two children, Brad, also a podiatrist and Alex who is also a teacher.

OLIVIA FRASER Assistant Coach Olivia is joining the Southwest coaching staff again for her second season. She has 8 years of playing experience including four JO seasons as a setter for Southwest. Liv graduated from Strongsville High School in 2020 and received a Bachelor’s in Public Relations from Bowling Green State University in April 2023. She currently works at a public relations firm in Downtown Cleveland.

HEIDI BALICKI Assistant Coach Heidi has been coaching volleyball for 22 years at various levels. She began her coaching career at Brunswick and is currently at North Royalton. Coach Heidi had a .750 winning percentage as a decade plus varsity coach and was Coach of the Year for her Conference and Coach of the Year in the Northeast Ohio District. In the early 1990’s, Coach Heidi formed her own club called ACES which commenced for 9 years. Her volleyball career was put on hold when she became a mother to 3 children, but returned holding a position on the DG Warriors Leadership Team for one year. Coach Balicki then served as an Elite level coach at Ignite for the past 4 years, where she was Coach of the Month for a Quarter and a nominee for Coach of the Year. Heidi spent her early years working at the ¨Yes I Can" camps for all athletic college camps, emphasizing to the athletes positive thinking and encouragement. She was also. asked to participate as a camp coach at various universities throughout Ohio. She supervised bringing All American Division 1 players to our schools for summer camps in Ohio in the Midwest Ohio Connections. She was trained in setting by Sheri Sanders, from Long Beach State, and assisted at the In Motion Clinics held in Ohio. Heidi has been married for 34 years and has her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Heidi is a Leadership WEB Coordinator for Where Everyone Belongs (W.E.B.) which is a mentorship program to train our youth to be positive role models to help students succeed. Heidi is recognized as a five-time National Award Recipient for Whoś Who in Americas Teachers, and is an Ohio Jennings Scholar recognizing the top 100 teachers in Ohio. Coach Heidi is excited to bring all of her leadership, coaching, culture-building, and teaching skills to Southwest as a club-wide skills coach and mentor.
